Hi Darren,
I think this is a code bug.  I have the same thing happening with one of my stoves.

As you said, the work-around is to press and hold the Fan-Slow button.
Best Regards,
Dan

SmartStove Discussion / SmartStove Blower Fan Issue
« Last post by stadx2 on April 16, 2017, 07:28:27 AM »
I've been using SmartStove for several seasons now and love this thing!!  One issue I have though is last year I noticed that at the end of the burn cycle (like in the morning), I noticed that the blower won't completely turn off.  Even after days have gone by without a fire and the firebox is at room temp the blower stays on at 11%.  My quick fix has been to press and hold the slow fan button, but it didn't behave like is originally.  I've played with the blower parameters in the setup menu but obviously without positive results.
Anybody have any ideas what happened or how to fix this?

Thanks, Darren

3 year update: The SmartStove controller is working as well as the first day installed. Absolutely no problems. Here in Texas we have a long hot season but when it gets cold, it gets cold and wet. Even after many months of zero thought about the fireplace and controller, when I press the start button it comes on and does what it is supposed to do. Thanks Dan!

I am new to this forum.
Has this company folded?
I love the smart stove idea and would like to implement it to my stove.
Thanks,
Mike

SmartStove Discussion / Question? Can I purchase your SmartStove package?
« Last post by blackattack3 on December 05, 2016, 02:28:08 PM »
Hello!
I have a US Stove 2500 series and now heat only with wood. I have been searching the internet for info on converting my stove to what you call your Smartstove controller package.
I work and would love the option of self adjusting damper to get the best burn for the buck.I have already added a thermo switch to my blower and have been looking for a way to regulate the motors rpm per temperature rise.
I would love not having to recheck the stove after going to bed.
I also find it fascinating that with your set up this stove could be so much more efficient.
Please let me know if it is available and how much.
I work in the automotive field including electrical and my son is in metal fabrication and experienced welder.
Thank you for your time,
Mike

Joe,

There's no way that you would ever see a flat output like that with a common stove with burn tubes.  This is the beauty of a gassification/catalytic process.

Thanks for posting!

I am still optimizing the operation of the Ponderosa stove. One thing I did yesterday was to swap the two servos. The bypass servo now controls the main draft and the draft servo controls the slider for the high burn. I did this because I noticed that temperatures kept climbing even with the main draft fully closed. The plot below is a representation of the burn today. The red band at the top is the temp. range for the high burn slider controlled with the draft servo and the yellow range is the range for the main draft slider controlled with the bypass servo.
SmartStove does an outstanding job controlling this stove with the amount of fuel available either in high burn or in low burn mode!
